Does SmartChange ask donors for tips? ▾
Never. SmartChange shows every donor the exact processing fee and asks, once and clearly, if they'd like to cover it so 100% of their gift reaches the collective. Ninety percent say yes. That's donor fee coverage — not a tip prompt. There's a big difference.
Does SmartChange handle NIL compliance? ▾
SmartChange provides the fundraising infrastructure — the page, the payment processing, the payout, and the donor tracking. Compliance with NIL rules is the collective's and athlete's responsibility. NIL law varies by state, institution, and athletic conference. We strongly recommend consulting your athletic department or a licensed NIL advisor.
